Bachchan's blog and Bakvas

“'There is a limit to which this can be tolerated. I can be a gentleman up to a point. But beyond that I shall stop being one. You go to the level of so much as touching my family and little innocent grand children and you shall have to pay extremely dearly,' he posted.

Being a celebrity comes with its own share of woes and Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan has become a latest victim of his mega star status. Mr Bachchan had filed a complaint with the police against an unidentified person who has been sending abusive messages on his blog and mobile phone. The megastar of Bollywood is very upset about this incident and has posted 'Soon there shall be a sharing of details, not just in India but in the country of its origin,’ People have condemned the incident and many well wishers have posted supportive message in favour of the legendary actor. The actor is very protective about his family and doesn’t take non sense from anybody. In an electronic age when activity has gone online and simplified people’s lives but the digital era has its own share of problems like data security and privacy related issues. The advent of social networking sites has further added to the people’s woes as they have lost their online privacy. But why is Mr Bachchan making such noises when he could have handled these issues in a better manner. Is his mobile number accessible to anyone who can send message at any point of time? Such incidents are common these days as websites of many celebrities have been hacked. The actor must refrain from writing on blogs and if he starts posting his comments then somebody or the other will reply. The medium of blog itself has lost its importance as these days anyone can write whatever he feels like on this platform,” said an exaggerated fan of Bachchan.Ninety per cent of the bloggers are abused by their critics and every third minute a blogger becomes a victim of abuse. Hence the relevance of such a medium is lost as Karan Johar made a statement recently “Where is the audience as everybody has become a critic these days.”To make matters worse, there are thousands of messages posted on every blogs which itself can look like scraps. Too much online activities are happening these days and there is an overdose of information which can be harmful. “Amitabh Bachchan ideally must have taken the help of cyber security experts. He should have acted responsibly and not got carried away by such abusive messages. The actor could have taken some steps to make his blogs secure. Instead of posting any comment on his blog, he should have handled the issue sensitively and taken the help of PR and journalists to make his point clear,” said Senior Police official on requesting anonymity.
